The Podcast Returns for 2024!
This week we were finally able to connect to discuss the topic on everyone’s lips - the departure of Carissa Moore and Stephanie Gilmore from the 2024 CT season. While there has been plenty else happening throughout the women's surfing world lately, we decided to focus solely on the two big announcements and what that might mean for the coming season. We also roped in a few of Carissa and Steph’s fellow World Champions to share their thoughts on the news. Listen below and let us know your thoughts!
Our Fantasy League is Back
Here we go again, another season for you all to prove that you have your finger on the pulse of professional surfing way more than we do. Our WSL fantasy league is live and waiting for you to join. Last year we secured some pretty fun prizes for both the regular season winner and the winner of Finals and we plan to do the same again this year. Even if you’ve never played before or have no idea how any of it works, it’s easy to join and it’s a bit of fun. As we can attest to, it really doesn’t matter how good you are.
Click here to join or go to ‘Create or Join a League’ and search for ‘The Double-Up’.
An Inside Look at WSL Judging
If you’ve ever wanted a peek behind the curtain at how the judges operate on the WSL, especially the role of Head Judge, this interview with recently departed Head Judge Pritamo Ahrendt is a fascinating read. It’s split into two parts and covers many topics, but it’s well worth your time.

Cathleya Casals Continues Pioneering Spirit of Her Grandmother
This week the WSL is holding their first ever event in Baler, the birthplace of surfing in the Philippines, and 11-year-old Cathleya Casals represented as the only local woman in the draw. Cathleya’s family has a history of leading the way for surfers in the region, most notably with her grandmother pioneering women’s surfing in Baler. Having already established herself on the national tour in the Philippines, it will be exciting to see what the future holds for Cathleya.
